Dana is a principal consultant specializing in helping family business owners plan for succession and manage the complexities and opportunities that are inherent to family business.
He works with controlling owner, sibling partnership and multi-generational family enterprises of all complexities and sizes. His former and current clients include leaders from Forbes’ list of the world’s wealthiest, a royal family, and two of the largest privately held businesses in the world.
Dana has advised hundreds of business families on six continents and in more than 18 different countries, including Switzerland, India, China, Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, Australia, Greece, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, Brazil, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. Dana’s work spans a variety of industries including real estate, automobile dealerships, construction, farming, medical services, health insurance, manufacturing, and banking.
Brent joined SecurAlarm in 2006 after attending Tufts University and Marquette University for a Master’s Degree. Brent initially joined the SecurAlarm as a Project Manager. He transitioned to Manager of Engineering where he learned how to improve standards and processes. Through his journey of learning and self-discovery, Brent began to understand the power of serving others in ways that are meaningful to them.
Today, in his role as President, Brent helps grow the team and shapes the culture to fit the organization’s purpose: “We Care, So We Protect. SecurAlarm exists to protect our team, our clients, our community and our culture. We are constantly trying to improve how we do this, and we hope never to stop trying to do it bigger and better.”
Outside of work, Brent can be found with his wife Stacey and their growing family of girls.
Todd joined the SecurAlarm in 2012 as Purchasing Manager and later became a Project Manager where he gained exposure to operations before assuming his current role as Controller. Prior to joining the company, Todd was Manager of Financial Reporting at Precision Dialogue and Staff Accountant at FGMK, a Chicago-based accounting firm. Todd is a Certified Public Accountant and studied accounting and information technology at Marquette University.
Todd is passionate about supporting SecurAlarm’s purpose of protecting both his team and clients.
Todd enjoys traveling with his wife Ali and is also interested in fly fishing, golfing, skiing, craft beer and food. He hopes to earn his pilot’s license (pending Ali’s permission). When not pursuing his hobbies, he can be found working on house projects or anxiously awaiting the arrival of their first child in March 2018.
Bill Muir is President of Grand Rapids Label Company, a company founded by his family in 1884. He has been with the company for over 25 years and is part of the fourth generation in the business. Bill began his career with the company in a management-training program prior to starting a sales territory in the southeast United States. Upon returning to Grand Rapids, he spent time in sales, marketing and operations, before assuming his current position.
Bill serves on several boards including the Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute, Paragon D&E, and the Family Business Alliance—where he has been Board Chair for the last 4 years. He’s also held several leadership roles with the Young Presidents’ Organization in recent years.
Bill received an undergraduate degree from Hope College and an MBA from Michigan State University. He resides in East Grand Rapids with his wife Cathy and their three children.
John joined Grand Rapids Label Company in 1995. He started in sales developing new business and servicing existing accounts primarily in the Detroit area. He moved to Grand Rapids to lead the sales team in 2007. In 2016, John became Vice President of Operations where he is responsible for the on-time performance, quality, efficiency, safety and morale of Grand Rapids Label Company manufacturing operations.
Prior to joining the family business, John spent seven years with The Boeing Company as a liaison engineer. He landed this position after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan. He returned to his alma mater in 2000, this time for an MBA.
John is an active member of Grand Rapids Rotary where he serves on the Board.
John and his wife Kim are the parents of two college students. John recently took up running and so far has completed two marathons.
