President of Shadow Risk
Lamont Thurston primarily consults on risk management and alternative risk financing solutions for the firm. This entails the identification, quantification and prioritization of risks for businesses, while aligning risk taking capacity, risk appetite and corporate strategy. His team developed a software solution, ShadowRisk™, to automate this process, which is further augmented by a patented card-based engagement tool that is used to facilitate interaction during workshops.
Lamont brings a global perspective to Finance and Risk Management having lived and worked abroad in both Asia and Europe. Prior to entering the insurance industry in 2008, he enjoyed a 14 year commercial banking career with one of the nation’s largest banks. Among his assignments, he managed the Asian Desk (Honda and Toyota suppliers), performed bank acquisition turnaround work, started, staffed and grew specialty lending groups and ended his tenure managing a $2 billion Commercial Division for 4 years.
During his career in both finance and insurance, Lamont has focused on providing his finance and risk management expertise to middle-market and large corporate organizations. He has recently worked with companies such as Ohio Gratings, Gemini Group, Ice Industries, General RV and dozens of other privately-owned organizations.
