Director of Membership
Mary joins Family Business Alliance with extensive non-profit experience. Her responsibilities include implementation of the organization’s mission through fundraising events, corporate engagement, and volunteer management.
As the Director of Membership, Mary manages and coordinates resources for over 185 members. She connects family organizations throughout West Michigan with the tools, strategies, and partners to elevate leadership, navigate governance, and create connections with the family business community.
Sam Sommerdyke
Marketing Coordinator
With a background in brand marketing, event coordination, and writing, Sam is passionate about helping family businesses thrive. A West Michigan native and Grand Valley State University graduate, Sam gained practical experience at the USC School of Cinematic Arts and worked for a family-owned business selling medical products.
As Marketing Coordinator, he manages brand image, social media presence, and member communications, using his skills to create greater visibility and recognition for family-owned businesses.
Nicki Carew
Program Manager
Nicki brings a background in event coordination and communications to the Family Business Alliance. As Program Manager, she leads event coordination from planning to execution, develops and refines programming, and manages key relationships with vendors, speakers, and staff to ensure quality event experiences.
Dedicated to enhancing the value of Family Business Alliance events, she works to provide members with insightful tools, impactful messages, and valuable networking opportunities. She is committed to fostering meaningful experiences that support the growth and success of family-owned businesses.
